The More You Give!

“And Jesus said unto them, ‘Come ye after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.’ And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed Him.” Mark 1:17-18

Simon and Andrew were casting a net into the sea; they were fishing. Jesus called for them to come and follow Him. The Bible says that they immediately let go of what they had; they let go of what they were doing. They immediately let go of what was familiar and important to them. They were fishermen, but their identities immediately changed from being fishermen, to being followers of Christ.

Have you really given yourself to Christ? Have you really surrendered your life to God? How much of God do you want in your life? Do you want all of Him? Do you desire all of His promises; all of His provision; all of His blessings; all of His protection; all of His forgiveness; all of His attention and all of His love? Do you really? The more you give; the more you get!

If you want more of Him, then you have to give more of yourself. If you want all that He has to offer; if you want to experience His fullness, then you have to give all; you have to surrender (relinquish, give up, hand over) your life, totally and completely. The opposite of surrendering is retaining (holding on to; hanging on to). To hold on to; to hang on to something or someone, could prevent you from grabbing hold on to more of Him. Is it worth it? The more you give, the more you get!

Do you want more? You have to be like Simon and Andrew…Give up your net; your safety net; your false security; your addiction; your habit…Give up your dreams, for His purpose; give up your desires, for His will; give up your old way of thinking, for a new way of believing. Deny yourself, so you can gain your new identity.

Let go! Give it up! Come on…you’ve wanted to experience Him more, but it’s your lack of total surrender that is preventing you from realizing His anointing power; His awesome abilities; His supernatural intervention; His unfailing love and His unchanging hand in your life. What do you want; a part-time relationship, with limited change and restricted blessings…Do you want to hear Him, only sometimes, receiving a little of what He has, experiencing a small amount of His power in your life? Or do you want it all???
If you want it all; give your all….everything in this life is temporary and subject to change . Let it go, for something eternal and unchangeable.

The more you give, the more you get!!
