Asking for Favor

Mark 11:25 (New King James Version)
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

How many times have we prayed for something and it just seemed like God wasn't listening? We cry and pray and pray and cry but it just seems like our prayers are not getting through. Well the bible states that we are to search our own hearts before we petition Him. We can't go to God with junk in our hearts and expect His best. We can't ask for Him to make us richer when we're not being good stewards over what we already have or we're not giving Him His ten percent which is the tithes. We can not ask God to forgive us of our sins if we're unwilling to show forgiveness to our fellow brethren. We can't ask God to deal with and judge someone else with out Him dealing with us first. It just doesn't work that way people. The Bible says that the word of God, is a two-edged sword, which cuts both ways. If we examine ourselves, how then can we not forgive others? When we acknowledge all of our own short comings, we then should be humbled before God, and not putting ourselves higher over another. Know that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory.

2 Corinthians 13:5 (New King James Version) Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified

Romans 3:23 (New King James Version)
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

2 Chronicles 7:14 (New King James Version)
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
